RYSL Online Registration

In addition to the in-person registration, RYSL  offers online registration with pay by credit card! RYSL also no longer requires the submittal of most registration paperwork by mail! U6′ers will be Coed in Spring

RYSL is having increasing difficulties in getting volunteer coaches in our larger age groups. For the Spring 2012 season we are going to go back to coed teams in the Under 6 program only to help ease this problem.

Rule Change Proposals

The following proposals for changes to the RYSL Governing Documents are being submitted for approval by the membership of the League.

RYSL By-Laws Section 1.0 Board of Directors:

1.1. The Redding Youth Soccer League (hereinafter referred to as RYSL or League) shall have a Board of Directors consisting of 18 members including the president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary and 14 members at large. The president, secretary and one half of the board members shall be elected to take office on January 1 of even-numbered years and the vice president, treasurer and one half of the board members shall be elected to take office on January 1 of odd-numbered years.

1.2. Members of this league shall nominate and elect at the AGM each year, officers and board members who shall serve for a period of two (2) years. Officers and board positions shall take office effective on January 1 following the AGM. The president and secretary shall be elected to take office on January 1 of the even- numbered years. The vice president and treasurer shall be elected to take office on January 1 of odd-numbered years.

1.3 Members of this league shall nominate and elect at the AGM each year, Members at Large who shall serve for a period of one (1) year. Members at Large shall take office effective on January 1 following the AGM.

The president, with approval of the Board, may shall appoint Board members to perform the following duties as deemed necessary by the Board.:

3.1 Coaching Coordinator through 3.11 TOPS Coordinator to be removed

13.1 The representative colors of the RYSL shall be:

Primary: Red and Black
Alternate: White and Black
Alternate: Red and White
Alternate: Silver and Black

Other colors may be designated as needed.

Persons interested in running for open board positions must submit their name no later than 22 days prior to the meeting (November 13). A list of persons seeking positions on the Redding Board of Directors will be listed on the website for review by the membership of Redding Youth Soccer prior to the meeting. Academy dates are set to run starting on Sunday, Nov 6th and continuing on the following dates 11/9, 13, 16, 20, 30, Dec 4, 7, 11.  Sunday times are 3:30-5:00 and Wednesdays 5:30-7:00pm.  Our Director of Coaching Paul Richardson will be assisted by several of our older (u17/19) Missfit and Kaos players in teaching the young players.

The class will be filled by the order of received checks in the mail, using the postmark date as the time discriminator. Historically, this type of clinic fills within 10 days of public announcement. Those individuals whose money was received after full enrollment will be placed on a waiting list. Your check will not be cashed unless you are successfully enrolled in the clinic.

RYSL Updates Registration Pricing

The Redding Youth Soccer Leagues registration fees have remained the same for many years. We have managed to do so through a combination of aggressive fundraising and cost controls. Unfortunately, the time has come when those efforts are no longer enough. RYSL has been operating in the red for the past few seasons and we can not run the operations of the league at loss indefinitely. Beginning with the Fall 2011 season, our recreational/division 4 rates will increase (or stay the same) slightly to:

• Under 6 Program: $40.00
• Under 8 Program: $65.00
• Under 10 Program: $80.00
• Under 12 Program: $80.00
• Under 14 Program: $90.00
• Under 16 Program: $90.00
• Under 19 Program: $90.00

Rest assured that the Board of Directors realize the extra burden that this may place on your families and we will continue to pursue every avenue feasible to contain costs and keep our registration fees some of the lowest in the North State. When we started the review of our current fees, one of the first things that we did was research other leagues and other sports in the area. What we found is that we are significantly lower than many of those programs in several areas. We also reviewed the rates charged by other similar leagues throughout California. What we came up with, we feel will allow us to continue to offer the best soccer in the North State for some time to come. We will continue to monitor our rates and search for other avenues where we can save money in an effort to keep the rates as low as possible.

RYSL is proud to announce the launch of a new website for our league, the Redding Youth Soccer Competitive Program website! Our new website is focused on the traveling or competitive teams that RYSL supports through our Kaos and Missfits clubs.
